OUR STORY

Welcome to Broadcast Love! We recently launched on Instagram at @broadcast.love. As humans, our greatest common attribute is our capacity to love, and Broadcast Love is all about highlighting love. Broadcast Love provides uplifting, love-inspired content for those who need it, those who love to listen to people’s stories, and those looking for relationship inspiration!

Broadcast Love started out as my response to a feeling of frustration and helplessness—what could I do to counteract all the hate that we hear about on the news. Our family has lived in three different countries and we have encouraged our children to be adventurous and explore our amazing world. The first incident affecting us personally was a shooting in the Lindt Café in downtown Sydney, Australia in 2014. We had lived in Sydney for four and a half years and been to the café on many occasions. Then there were the attacks in France in 2015, just after my youngest daughter and I had spent time exploring Paris by ourselves; followed by bombings in Belgium—one of which was at the Brussels train station where my husband and daughter had recently visited. As a result of these attacks my children started to second guess travel plans. Since this time, hate crimes have risen significantly.  I realized if we don’t do something to oppose these acts of hate we will end up in a world full of fear and anxiety.

I was initially inspired by this father’s conversation with his young son about the terrorist attacks in France. It highlighted for me, the need to explain hate crimes to children in a manner that reduces their anxiety.

Hate crimes are affecting a generation of children and how they view the world—making them anxious and fearful. I believe we have a responsibility to show them that there is more love than hate in the world. So, it’s with this thought in mind that I started to record people’s love stories and broadcast them on social media.

Stories of love don’t always have to involve a romantic partner. Wonderful stories can also come from a relationship between a man and his dog, a child and their kitten, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, and so much more!

My dream is that others will record their love stories and either post them on Instagram with the #broadcastlove or send them to stories@broadcastlove.com and together we will create an international treasure trove of love.

Join me in sharing your stories—the world needs them.
